🔷護王神社
かつて神護寺に和気清麻呂の霊社として祀られていた護王神社、今は京都御所の西側、蛤御門（長州藩と会津桑名藩との激戦の場所）の向かいにある。
移されたのは明治19年/1886年、明治天皇の勅命である。⊳蛤御門とは
和気清麻呂には、やはりいのしし。

神額は賀陽邦壽（かや くになが）作
京都御所との間、烏丸通りに面して清麻呂の偉業の絵巻が並ぶ。 
鳥居の真ん中にご覧のような石柱がある「神の使い・いのしし」と。 
境内に駐車場（5台ぐらい）がある。
拝殿には巨大な2012年、辰の絵馬。
拝殿の南側に四神/しじんの絵馬。
⊳四神とは
真ん中の額には御成敗式目
その第一条「神は 人の敬に依って 威を増し 人は 神の徳に依って 運を添ふ」と掲げられている。
⊳第一条についての興味深い内容↓
本殿に向かって（拝殿の西側）に掲げられている「忠列」の言葉。
これ以上ない忠誠の言葉は軍艦「高雄」乗務員一同から寄進されたもの。下の写真が軍艦「高雄」
「高雄」の写真は拝殿西側の左下に控えめに掲げられている。

境内の南側一角にはいのししのコレクションが、神秘的なものからかわいいものまでたくさんある。

🔹針の碑
京都において一番有名なのが法輪寺｢針供養｣、第二に針神社｢針供養祭｣、第三に武信稲荷神社の針供養祭、そして第四の針供養がここ護王神社でも行われる。2月8日のこと。

🔹遙拝所
遠き天照さまに手を合わす。ここまでが境内東側のようす。
🔹祖霊社
近衛社（きんえいしゃ）とも呼ばれる。1971年/昭和46年建立。
🔹久邇宮家御霊殿
1964年/昭和39年に旧久邇宮邸から移築された。
🔹警察消防招魂社
1946年/昭和21年に京都府庁舎構内から移築。
災害時などの警察や消防の方々の働きには頭が下がります。
🔹さざれ石
さざれ石、最初に見たのは下鴨神社だったような気がする。「これかぁ～」と思ったら、けっこうあちこちにあるものだな。
本殿の右側にもっどってきた、ここにも手水舎がある。北側の門から入ってこられる方のためだろう。
足腰の病にご利益があることでも有名な護王神社。仏足石ならず清麻呂足石。
京都御所の西側を守護するかのように清麻呂公の威光は力強い。足腰にご利益．．．旅を生きがいとする私としては願ってもないことだ。
