🔷世界遺産 上賀茂神社
正式社名は賀茂別雷神社（かもわけいかづち--）で、祭神は賀茂別雷神（かもわけいかづちのかみ）。賀茂別雷大神は下鴨神社に奉られている玉依姫命/タマヨリヒメの子にあたる。
御神体が神山（こうやま）ちょうどこの日は、桃花神事（とうかじんじ）神前に草餅や桃花・辛夷（こぶし）の花を供え、疫病の災いを祓い除け、国家安寧を祈念する。

🔹一の鳥居
二の鳥居までの間に、このような見事な桜の巨木が数本ある。

🔹立砂/たてずな
二の鳥居をくぐるとすぐ目に入る。
砂をきれいな円錐形に盛り上げられた立砂、これは神が降臨したといわれる「神山」を模ったもので、憑代（よりしろ）即ち、神が招き寄せられて乗り移るものとされている。
また、これは鬼門などを清める砂の起源であるといわれていて、盛り塩の起源もここにあるのではと思う。
🔹くすのき橋（長寿橋）
橋桁は楠木の化石らしい。奥に見えるのが本殿への入り口である桜門。

最前列で桃花神事 /とうかじんじを見ることができた。↓の動画は2021年のもの
🔹玉橋
神事の際に神官がわたるだけで、一般の人は渡れない。
玉橋の下を流れる川を御物忌川 /おものいかわ といい、本殿の西側に流れる 御手洗川 /みたらしがわと合流して「楢 /ならの小川」となり、境外に流れ明神川となる。
