福知山には観音寺が二つある
補陀洛山、方や室尾谷山と山号は違うのだけれど、紫陽花寺に行くはずが、朝寝坊の観音さんに参ってしまった/笑 まぁ、こちらにも紫陽花はあったのだが．．．

🔷室尾谷山 観音寺
714年行基によって開創されたと伝えられており、360度のビューポイント、鬼ヶ城跡への登山口でもある高野山真言宗の山寺。
ここの本尊十一面観音が平安時代に、西国三十三所観音霊場の札所を決める会合に、朝寝坊をして遅れたため札所から漏れたという伝承がある。
それ以来「朝寝坊の観音さん」と呼ばれるようになったと言われているそうだ。なんか親しみわく～

2023年にこの日行くはずだったもう一つの観音寺で紫陽花を満喫した記録↓

仁王門裏にある駐車場から紫陽花と本坊を望む。いやいや立派な紫陽花 
大きな山寺になっているので車で本堂前まで移動した。
谷川のせせらぎ、そしてたっぷりの緑、気持ちのいい空気が流れている。 
ここに朝寝坊の観音さんがいらっしゃる
本尊を目の前で見ることができるのは33年に一度、その折の様子がよくわかるサイト↓を紹介しておく
本堂手前の道を左へ、その道は山へと向かう。そうだ天空の城「鬼ヶ城跡」への道だ。
視界が開け、広場に出て、そのあたりが乗用車の限界。あとは徒歩で約40分ということらしい。闘城賛歌さんの詳しい登城記録を貼っておく↓
鬼伝説において酒呑童子の最も重要な家来だった茨木童子がこの山に住んでいたといわれている。
頂上までの紹介はこちらの写真の綺麗な「山好き的日々＠京都北山」さんのサイトが素晴らしい。
日もすっかりと真上に登り、そろそろこの旅も終わりを迎える。北京都、北近畿と行ったほうがいいのだろうか、自然が美しく、また歴史も興味が尽きないエリアだ。
混雑も無く物価も安い。道々、無人販売の朝取れトマトには、空腹とのどの渇きを何度も助けられた。
これが書き終わった今、
亀岡の二回目の旅も終了し、近日旅立つ「宮津」への準備にワクワクしている。
