奥の院を満喫した後、車を金剛峯寺前の無料駐車場に移動。
高野山全体を統括する金剛峯寺へ、ここは全国および海外の末寺4000箇所の中枢です。
金剛峯寺 正門
かつては天皇・皇族・高野山の重職のみが通ったという。 両側に石楠花（しゃくなげ）が見事でした。
門をくぐって左手に池と奥に経蔵を臨む。左手に石楠花、水中からカキツバタの葉だろうか？
参拝料をお払いし、別殿、新別殿へ
さまざまな部屋の襖絵を見る、ここでも音声ガイドは大活躍、是非利用するべきです。

蟠龍庭（ばんりゅうてい）2,340平方メートルの石庭は、国内で最大級
別の角度からの蟠龍庭（ばんりゅうてい）
正門から外を見る。金剛峯寺の建物の中で一番古く、文禄2年（1593年）に再建されて以来、今日までしっかりと残っています。
ゆっくりと、お茶をいただいた新別殿で昼食をとるのがいいかもしれません。 広々とした座敷で、庭園を望みつつお弁当を．．．猛暑や厳寒のときは是非そう計画してみるべき。
台所も公開されていて、巨大な煙突や、二千人のご飯が炊ける大釜も驚きでした。数々の襖絵や台所の様子などはお見せしたいのですが、写真は撮りませんでした。というわけで写真は美しく充実している金剛峯寺のHPからどうぞ。
